Nancy Hulsey received her B.A. in English from Colgate University and an M.B.A. in Marketing and Management from New York University Stern School of Business. She is a member of both the Independent Education Consultants Association (IECA) and the Chicagoland Independent Educational Consultant Group (CIECA).

Nancy began Best 4 Years college consulting to provide individualized attention to students and their families through the complex, competitive, and evolving world of college admissions. Throughout high school and the application process, she advises students on: class selection, extracurricular activities, leadership opportunities, summer programs, standardized testing, resumes, teacher recommendations, admission cycles, interviews, honors programs, standardized testing, college lists, essays, and applications.

While she is dedicated to guiding clients through every step of the process, her specialty is what many students and families dread the most…essays! In a sea of qualified candidates, essays make a difference, and she uses her English degree to help students craft essays that are unique, memorable, and reflective of who they are today, and who they will be on campus. Then she taps into her marketing experience to help students use the collective parts of the application to round out their story and illustrate why they’ll be valuable members of the next freshman class.

As a four-year member of the Colgate D1 Women’s Tennis Team, she loves helping student-athletes pursue their dream of playing college sports. Whether it’s DI, DII, or DIII, she works with aspiring college athletes at every stage of the process from creating resumes and finding the right fit schools, to helping them communicate with coaches and evaluate offers.
