For over 25 years, Dr. Fishbein has worked as a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the practice of Dr. Jeffrey A. Fishbein & Associates. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin--Madison and earned both his master’s and doctorate degrees from the Adler School of Professional Psychology in Chicago.

Dr. Fishbein treats older children, adolescents, and adults. Using a combination of psychodynamic and cognitive/behavioral approaches, Dr. Fishbein’s style is very effective in minimizing symptoms and/or resolving more substantive life issues.

Clinically, Dr. Fishbein’s main interests are in working with adolescents and adults experiencing a wide range of concerns. A typical client may be an adolescent experiencing difficulty with his/her social, academic, or emotional functioning; or an adult struggling with transition issues, career uncertainty, and/or relationship difficulties. Dr. Fishbein also helps many professionals deal with stress, pressure, and expectations related to their performance in the occupational realm.

Philosophically, Dr. Fishbein sees the problems individuals present with as manifestations of greater issues to be assessed, evaluated, and treated. He views individuals holistically, looking at the whole person rather than just the symptoms with which they present. He views his clients as those who have stories that need to be understood, rather than those who present with problems to be fixed. His empathic, engaging, humorous, and interactive approach has been extremely effective in his 25 years of clinical practice.
